Cleaning Your Water Pressure Reducing Valve The Correct Way

2011-01-24

When you put a water pressure reducing valveon your plumbing/water system in your home or place of business, you will be doing allot to help prevent the loss of water within your space, this will also help to reduce a water bill. Although typically, pressure valves will have a screen that requires cleaning. The screen can be found inside a 3/4 in head on the other side of where a screw sticks out in order to make adjustments. If you find this, then turn the water system off and turn the faucet to the open position to let any built up pressure go. Then, you will take a wrench and remove the top where you will find the screen. Clean the screen good, replace and repeat as needed. This will keep your system and valves running smoothly.
