Pneumatic Sov configuration Puzzle

2010-11-03

all i am from the electrical forumn but i am puzzled with a pneumatic question. I have a dump valve at the bottom of a vessel which is energise to dump. We have to control this valve via two 5 port solenoids. How do i configure the ports if possible for each solenoid to dump independant or both together. I can't seem to suss out the venting of the valve. You should place both solenoids parallel. Actually you do not need 5/2 way solenoids. 3/2 way valves will do the job. But this also means that you can still use the 5/2 way solenoids you have and only need to plug off the extra gates.Conclusion:- Place both solenoids parallel.- Connect the air supply to both P-ports.- Connect the dump valve to both A-ports.- Both EA-ports should be vented.- Both B-ports should be blocked off.In case one or both of the solenoids are energised your dump valve will get air pressure.
