Pressure Reducing Valve is a Self-Operated Regulating Valve

The pressure reducing valve is a self-operated regulating valve that reduces the inlet pressure to the required outlet pressure through throttling by its internal components. When the inlet pressure and flow rate change, it maintains the outlet pressure essentially constant by utilizing the elastic element and the force of the conveying medium itself. The pressure reducing valves commonly used in China are generally single-stage throttling type with a conical disc. While single-stage throttling valves perform well under low pressure drops, they are prone to cavitation under high pressure drops, leading to premature damage to the throttling components. The valve disc of this pressure reducing valve adopts a two-stage balanced sleeve-type throttling structure: six throttling holes of equal area are evenly distributed circumferentially in the middle of the sleeve-type disc, serving as the primary throttling port; six throttling holes of equal area are evenly distributed circumferentially on both the upper and lower parts of the sleeve-type disc, serving as the secondary throttling ports. The medium enters from the inlet end of the valve, passes through the six primary throttling holes in the middle of the disc for the first stage of throttling, and enters the cylindrical space inside the disc. Because the upper and lower areas of this cylindrical space are equal, the fluid pressure exerted on the upper and lower sleeves cancels each other out, achieving balance. Therefore, the throttling area is unaffected by changes in inlet pressure. The medium then passes through the upper and lower secondary throttling holes on the disc for the second stage of throttling before entering the outlet end of the valve.Pressure relief valveNews

 

The total area of the twelve secondary throttling holes (upper and lower) is equal to the total area of the six primary throttling holes in the middle. The pressure drop across the two stages is similar, meaning the total throttling pressure drop of the valve is essentially evenly distributed, controlling the fluid velocity. Furthermore, the six throttling holes in the upper, middle, and lower sections are all arranged circumferentially, eliminating lateral forces.Pressure relief valve Products

 

The two-stage throttling balanced sleeve-type pressure reducing valve offers numerous advantages: It achieves two-stage throttling, thereby solving the pressure reduction problem under high pressure drops, mitigating hydraulic impact, avoiding cavitation, reducing noise, and also adapting to low pressure drop conditions. Through its simple structural design, the valve disc maintains good balance both horizontally and vertically, reducing design and manufacturing costs. Lateral thrust on the disc is balanced, resulting in stable guidance and an increased lifespan of the seat sealing surface. The disc can be quickly disassembled as a whole, facilitating maintenance and repair. The elastic element only responds to the outlet pressure after the secondary throttling, enhancing the stability of the valve's outlet pressure.
